Protest March: today at Erasmusplein 12:30
On may 7th 2025, in defense of Zionist interests at radboud university, the Radboud CVB including D66 chairwoman Alexandra van Huffelen, the university’s security and police forces launched a joint assault with lethal weapons on peaceful protestors. One student sustained severe leg injuries after a police dog was set on them. One student had their kneecap shattered in a targeted blow by an officer of “the law”. Two students were kidnapped and held in solitary confinement for multiple days. Several students were assaulted by university security personel.
Only a few days later, Zionists launched operation “Gideons Chariots” in Gaza, commencing large scale ethnic cleansing efforts and forcing the last hospital in northern gaza to cease operations. The French foreign ministry threatened to revoke the eu’s association agreement with israel, under which a large number of the collaborations between european universities, including Radboud University, and their genocidal counterparts fall as well, should the offensive go ahead. As always, the zionist terror acted with impunity against empty words from europe.
The university community responded in the same way to both, the only way they know: silence, dismissal and ignorance.
A year later, the colonial occupation continues and expands its genocide. Entire cities have been levelled. Families wiped out with technology developed at Radboud’s partner universities, by soldiers trained at Radboud’s partner universities using strategies conceived at Radbouds partner universities. While Palestinian children are systematically raped and tortured by Zionist prison guards, while almost daily airstrikes are hitting Gaza and while blockades of water, food and other aid comtinue, Radboud’s support of the Zionists who carry out genocide and apartheid against Palestinians remains.
Police have deployed dogs against a demonstration since then. Radboud University has normalised both genocide, as well as the use of heavy-handed security operations against students on campus.
Let the mental and physical scars of students be a reminder of that.
Our demands should be common sense then:
- Justice and Freedom for the people of Palestine
- support those who resist genocide both with and without arms
- cut all ties with Zionism
- end police forces on campus
We further recommend Alexandra van Huffelen to leave both her party and radboud university to commence an intensive search for her spine, which was last seen during her early days and finally vanished when she destroyed families lives as special minister for the “toeslagenaffaire”.
